Deductible

It's essential to note that not every insurance plan has a deductible, but some do, and deductibles often renew annually. A deductible is the amount you personally pay before your insurance coverage takes effect.

Let's illustrate this with an example: suppose you have a therapy session costing $120 and a deductible of $1,000 per year. In this case, your responsibility would be the first $1,000 of therapy costs. If you attend one weekly therapy session, you could meet your deductible in approximately nine sessions.

Once the deductible is met, insurance typically covers a substantial percentage of therapy costs. For instance, if your deductible is $1,000 and you've paid $1,000 out of pocket, your subsequent therapy sessions may cost as little as $10 per session, with the remaining covered by your insurance.
